Laurens County Hospital

Laurens County EMS transports the majority of our patients to Laurens County Hospital located between the cities of Laurens and Clinton on Highway 76.  Additionally, we utilize three other primary facilities outside of our county. Greenville Hospital System and Spartanburg Healthcare System are the upstate region’s primary receiving hospitals for both critically ill trauma patients as well as for definitive care for cardiac related illnesses.  Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood is the preferred choice of many of our residents in the southern portion of the county and we strive to assist these citizens by transporting to this facility, as the status of our transport unit availability will allow.  We reserve the right to act in the patient's best interest when hospital destination equates to the most appropriate care for medical condition. On occasion, such as dangerous weather or due to the status of the system, that transport may be to either the closest facility or an in county facility, regardless of the patient's or family's wishes.
